Now What ???

So the election is finally over and Will Flanagan is our Mayor-Elect. Will he actually bring the necessary change to City Hall or has he sold his soul to the Devil? I guess time will tell.

Will ran a campaign of "High Hopes" and told the people what they wanted to hear. With the current economic crisis and more 9C cuts looming it will be a difficult task to accomplish all of his promises in two years. He will have to convince the same City Councilors that approved the CSO Fee that the City needs to eliminate that fee. I am not sure if those City Councilors will flip flop on that vote, plus Flanagan still hasn't showed how he will pay for that project. Oh, I forgot he is crunching the numbers.

He will have to work with the Firefighters and Teachers Union to come to a new contract that will benefit the City and not the unions. How will our Police feel if the Firefighters don't have to take the 8.5% pay cut like they did? It doesn't seem fair that the Police took that pay cut and the firefighters will not have to.

Flanagan will have to show that he will only hire qualified people to jobs within the City Administration. It will interesting to see if he will follow suit like Correia and hire close supporters to high paying positions. Also will he remove benefits from part-time employees? If he fails to do so he will be exposed as “politics as usual”

It is our duty to see that Will Flanagan will follow through on his campaign promises listed above.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

There is no way that he can keep his promises without raising taxes. He will be a one term Mayor. This city will be in worst shape in two years.

must be the next mayoral candidates blog.

Anonymous said...

I don't think that is the case here but, Will Flanagan's people tried to start a blog that trash talked the other candidates early on in the race. I am guessing the idea was to establish a beloved blog and then SURPRISE back Will. It was lame and only lasted a few weeks.

City hall worker and dept heads have been on the 8% cut for awhile. I don't think there very happy about the firefighters not taking a cut yet!! He didn't even mention them at all in his campaign. He also said he didn't believe terry sullivan 5 million figure. We shall see! I hope he does well!

I hope he does well. Remember to city hall workers and dept. heads have been on that 8% cut for a long time already. Word is they wern't so happy when he promised the firefighers alot and didn't even mention them!

I know - lets ask that cowardly stooge Laz-Is-Us what he thinks. You know who I'm talking about - he's that "all show, no go" moron who can fill a screen with anti-Flanagaan putrid pontification. He's quite the pundit - NOT! He ACTS like he knows things. Then when Flanagan wins he plants his lips firmly on Flanaagans butt and gives himm a big wet one. Come on Laz-Is-Us, you cowardly boob, enlighten us. BWAHAHAHAHAHA

It's not fair that the only unions that didn't take a paycut was the teacher's and firefighters union.

I actually started this blog because I am tired of what's going on in the City for the past two years. I was hoping that there would be real change with this election. Well that didn't happened. So I will use this blog to show what our city officials are up to.

I wonder if Flanagan and his administration will take the 8.5% paycut that the rest of the city workers took.

don't forget the mayor's 10% cut too

Welcome my new blogging friend ....
Gald to have you here...and to my very couragious insulting friend above, who was so quick to call me a coward but only left their name as anonymous, my email is on my blog, be a real man or woman and challange me in writing...or a duel, if you must, I know many simpletons in Fall River who subscribe to Souldier of Fortune and like that sort of stuff...or maybe you are THE HURRICANE,,,lmao@the URINECANE...anyways, leave a comment on may page, I'll print it, answer you back, and let yopu crawl back under the porch where a silly little puppy like you belongs...and I Rather think it brave and appropriate things to do when you are wrong to admit it...what's wrong, can't admit an incorrect prediciton for fear of becoming a mistake yourself my silly friend....Suck on all those lemons punk...LMAO@U

Lazurusisus said...

Also...I have, still have, and will continue to have good friends who supported Will Flanagan during the campaign......you can't take the outward trappings of this stuff too seriously...what I do take seriously are serious people who love this City...and BTW...if you knew 1/1000 of what I know about public finanace and public administration, I'd be so shocked I might even never write another thing on my blog...and since I KNOW that will never happen.....

Lazurusisus said...

LOL...sorry...you probably know more about proofreading than I do, alas...

flanagan will try to repeal the rain water tax but the city council will vote against. He will then say that he tried but the council voted it down. it will all be forgotten by the next election

Anonymous said...

curious what blog flagan started that lasted 2 weeks- what was the name of it?

Lazurusisus said...

No..it won't be forgotten...because it was a lead pipe cinch promise...and because there will be one, more likely two current City Coincilors that will challange him in two years...THEY won't let anyone forget....hey, it's politics!

Lazurusisus said...

coincilors? ohmygawdwhatamiwriting!

Set The Record Straight said...

To Lazurusisus: You are right it won't be forgotten. I will make sure that in 2011 people remember all the promises that Flanagan made, and which ones he did not come through on. He never said that he would try, he always said that he will do... And I have all the sounds bite to prove it.

Anonymous said...

STRS,

Flanagan can only propose a repeal of the CSO fee/tax. He can't vote for the City Councilors.

If you want it repealed, and the Councilors block it, then blame them.

Lazurusisus said...

OHHHHH no....he gave everyone an assurance he would repeal what he called the "illegal stormwater tax!"...If he knew didn't know how government in the City works, we are all truly screwed...particularly his supporters...already making excuses for him TWO MONTHS before takin office...that must be some kind of twisted record...lol...and I want him to succedd...I want him to say, gee, I screwed up, instead of making excuses...I think if he can't do something. he will tell the truth....he's not ol' Hamhocks

Lazurusisus said...

Man...between arthritic fingers and a wireless keyboard, I type like the leo pelltier talks!

Set The Record Straight said...

Anon 5:33; Well that's not what Flanagan promised. He said he was going to repeal the illegal rainwater tax. He did not once say that he was going to propose it to the City Council. Shame on him for not knowing how City government procedures.

I don't think flanagan promised anything to the firefighters and as far as the 8 percent pay cut, in july, 15 firefighters retired their salary is equal to the 8 percent cut thats why the fire dept. budget is balanced. mayor correia did not/will not replace those men unless or until the FFs take a cut.also by now 6 months have already gone by the cut will be less.

Lazurusisus said...

I know from am extremely reliable sourse that the firefighters did NOT agree to anything with Mayor-elect Flanagan, nor he with them...
Whatever ol' Hamhocks has done, that's what he's done..He's an idiot who just doesn't care about anyone but himself, especially now. Anyone who publicly defends him now is a maximum troglidyte

what is the email address to report
people we want exposed???

Anonymous said...

Well if it isn't Lazuranass the pontficating bean counter. You have some serious time on your hands, eh buddy? LMAO

Sorry to have set you off to such a degree that you filled multiple screens with defensive drivel. I suspect the typos were less of the arthritic variety and more akin to screaming fingers bashing your "wireless keyboard" (Oh, aren't you just the neighborhood techie. yuk yuk).

You just spent months bescumbering a young man seeking public office. Now that he wins, you're singing a different tune, eh Lazuranass? How utterly French of you.

No, Lazuranass, you can't be one of the little duckies at the carnival shooting gallery who gets to reverse direction upon being hit. Stay on your loser (CAV) course and leave the governing to winners.

Oh yeah. I loved your challenge to open dueling. What a joke. Tell me Lazuranass, how many people know precisely who YOU are? Being an old, cowardly bean counter doesn't empower you to make the rules. In fact, it doesn't empower you, at all. LOL

Stay in the margins of society, Lazuranass. It's where you belong. Leave the heavy lifting to those willing to do more than just talk a good game. Remember, where there's a Will, there's a way!

I think I'll take a break from the blogs for a few days. But, I shall return. Be seeing you, Laz.

BWAHAHAHAHA

It seems like anonymous7:06 has a beef with Laz. Is he afraid that Laz and the local bloggers will expose Flanagan's pie in the sky promises? Let's not forget that it was Shamrock and Lefty that exposed Correia and his dealings.

Set The Record Straight said...

To Anon 7:06; please stick to the original posting. There is no need to bash people in here. We already have the Herald News comment section for that. The point of this posting was to discuss the merits and realities of Mr Flanagans campaign promises.

Set the Record Straight,

Thank you for your comment.

I have to say although both of us were stop bob supporters and than Laz eventually became a CAV supporter and I a Flanagan supporter we found a way to get along and Laz was one of the first to contact me when flanagan won.

That being said- how do we email you information to look into and what is your capacity to look into it ? Will you be reporting the outcome of such "investigations" regardless of persons name you are exposing??

Thank you for clarifying the intent of your blog.

Charlotte: You can email me at fallriverundercover@gmail.com. I will report the outcome of such investigations regardless of the name of the person. I am tired of politics as usual and I want to expose it no matter of who it is. It could be a politician, police officer, firefighter, city worker, school department employee.

Lazurusisus said...

I support my friend Charlotte....as you can see, it IS possible to be a CAV suppote and still maintain friendship relationships with people who do not agree with you...It's what seperates us from drunken little monkeys who date outgoing Mayor's grand daughters...it's what higher life forms should do more of....and frankly, outing people's real identity can be a dangerous thing....I by no means am any sort of an angel....but when I have a beef with someone, you all know where I am....my email address is on my site...here it is for All TO SEE...JFAUST1954@COMCAST.NET...WRITE ME, I'LL WRITE BACK.....but for God's sake, I saw a Flanagan supporter out BDC on the FRHN....not cool...and that goes the the way around as well...so know that by running this kind of site to expose government corruption, you have a grave responsibility to make sure there is ZERO colatteral damage...go deliberately and go slow...like me...I'm old and used and very retired...not that I have to defend myself to an airborne desease by my very intimidated friend who apparently is like a pilot fish to Mayor Flanagan's whale....plus, I have an MBA in Finance, and over 20 years in Executive level municipal experience...being a jackass on a derided radio station and hosing a girl half your age doesn't add up to much as far as I'm concerned lil drunken mikey!...Opps...I outed you...and YOU deserved it...
Peace out all...

Charlotte...I love you kiddo!

BTW....it doesn't matter how hard you campaigned against someone...lol..Charlotte and I would lol at the crap we both wrote in public, but too each other....once the election is over, you eat crow if you loose, and you get behind the guy who won who has a nearly impossible job to do..it's called being a Fall River Patriot and a thinking human being...I truly feel sorry for anyone who cannot understand that!
